Appointments in Betolar Plc's management team - Ville Voipio appointed as Chief Commercial Officer and Jarno Poskela as Chief Technology Officer

Betolar has appointed Ville Voipio (M.Sc., Econ.) as Chief Commercial Officer and as member of the management team. The role is new at Betolar and supports the development of commercial partnerships and operations, as well as the international scaling of the business, especially in Asia and Europe. Ville Voipio will start his position on 1 October 2022 at the latest and will report to the CEO.

Ville Voipio has more than 20 years of experience in demanding commercial executive and specialist roles in an international operating environment. Before Betolar, he was responsible for the sales and marketing at Stora Enso’s intelligent packaging businesses in 2017–2022. Prior to this, he worked as the business director at research and technology agency Annalect in 2013–2017, in management positions in Nokia's global marketing in 2008–2012, and as a partner and client services director of the marketing agencies Family Inc and TBWA in 2003–2008.

"Betolar is a rapidly developing company targeting the global construction market in need of change. The patented and tested Geoprime solution minimizes the carbon footprint of concrete raw-material and provides an excellent framework for commercialization. I am thrilled to drive the international expansion of Betolar in its next phase", says Ville Voipio.

Betolar has appointed Jarno Poskela (D.Sc., Tech.) as Chief Technology Officer and member of the management team. In his position, he will be responsible for Betolar's materials technology research and development as well as digital platform development. Jarno Poskela will start his position on September 1, 2022 and will report to the CEO.

Jarno Poskela has worked in several expert and management positions in research, product development and innovation.  He will transfer to Betolar from Neste Plc’s Innovation organization, where his responsibilities in the years 2019–2022 have included, among other things, development of innovation capability, R&D processes and digitalization. Before Neste, he worked in various expert and management positions at the consultation company Innotiimi Oy between in 2007–2019, and as a researcher and project manager at BIT Research Centre in 2001–2007.

"Betolar is a materials technology company. Alongside the recipe expertise, the company's digital solutions are key from a business perspective. There is a growing demand for sustainable solutions and new technologies in the construction business. I want to bring my own know-how to Betolar's technology development work and to innovating world-class digital solutions," says Jarno Poskela.

The company's current CTO Pekka Hintikka will step down from the management team on September 1, 2022. He has announced that he will retire during 2023 and will continue to support Betolar's R&D activities in an advisory role until then.

"In just a few years, Betolar has developed from the first technological seeds to a listed international growth company. Our mission, which concretely promotes the green transition, with our excellent employer image have attracted the best people to the company. Ville and Jarno are versatile and experienced experts who are taking Betolar's innovative development to the next level. At the same time, I thank Pekka Hintikka for his contribution as a member of the management team during the company's critical development phase. It's great that the cooperation continues," says Betolar CEO Matti Löppönen.
