Comparing Betolar to traditional OPC-based concrete

With Betolar’s solution, the end products can be made from up to 95% of side streams. Therefore, there is no need to mine e.g. limestone and gravel that is necessary in traditional, OPC-based concrete.

The manufacturing process does not require cement which saves CO2 emissions significantly. This is because cement manufacturing is highly energy intensive and the process itself releases carbon emissions. Additionally, switching to Betolar’s solution does not require large investments in the existing machinery.

Betolar’s production process is designed in a way that the manufacturing happens near the source of the waste stream. Geopolymer concrete is also about 20% lighter than traditional concrete. Together, these make the logistic costs of the end product significantly smaller than traditional OPC-based concrete, which requires long-distance transportation, all the way from the mining site to the construction site.
